Subject: By-Laws Finals 2010

Dear Clubs,

Trevor has made the decision below for the best of the competition and MUST NOT be abused, regarding the By-Law rule:-

4Bii FG states only players who have played of a team regularly during the premiership rounds up to Final Series should be allowed to play with that team in the Grand Final Series. ie That is a minimum of 5 games

Players registered with the team must take the field of play before players who play up to help the team, there is no restriction on the players playing up only Previous players who have  been used to play up on a regular basis must be used, not a new player who hasn't played in that team before. NO players can play back!

The minimum of 5 games has been dropped to enable clubs to make teams for the finals.

Careful consideration must be given with Division 3 and Division 2 players to determine which team they played the most games.

This has been done in the best interest of the club teams and competition.
Good Luck to all teams participating in the finals.

Regards,

Pam Tindall

DRAW FOR 24 JULY 2010

Monday, 19 July 2010

Subject: World Cup’s not over, the most important Goal is yet to be kicked and Gympie’s going to do it!

The biggest goal will be kicked at 11am-12noon on Sunday July 25 at Gympie South State School Gymnasium, where Gympie’s Soulfiredance Academy will lead 1000 supporters in Shakira’s Waka Waka Dance Challenge in support of 1GOAL a global campaign for the 2010 FIFA World Cup that aims to fight poverty.

You can be part of over 14 million people world wide supporting the 1GOAL campaign that runs until September and aims to make world leaders accountable for their ‘Education for All' promise, to provide quality public education to all children and adults by 2015.

Pop signer Shakira’s song Waka Waka was the official anthem for the World Cup and as part of the 1GOAL campaign she has challenged people across the globe to dance the Waka Waka dance!
Gympie’s Waka Waka will be filmed and placed on Utube along with over thousands of other communities that have already Waka Waka’d! Will Gympie’s be the best yet? That’s up to you!
1000 people are needed of all shapes, sizes and ages and if you don’t dance, don’t worry says Kerri-Anne of Soulfiredance Academy “what we want is to demonstrate a show of support of this important goal, everyone can Waka Waka.”

The dance will be lead by Gympie Soccer teams Gympie Diggers, who along with international pop star Shakira, Cathy Freeman, Brian McFadden, a host of international soccer stars and teams including Australia’s Socceroos, and the Australian Matildas, have signed up to support 1GOAL.

Whilst it is meant to be a fun morning the message is very serious. 774 million adults still cannot read and 72 million children in the world are still denied the opportunity to go to school. HIV, disability, conflict, discrimination and poverty mean literally millions of children who could be our future generation of leaders, sport stars, doctors and more are denied this right and confined to a life of poverty.

Kerri-Anne has been involved in 1GOAL as a result of her dance network “Since the Global Campaign for Education started more than 40 million children now have the chance to go to school a great achievement; but let’s keep governments and leaders accountable for the 72 million that still need your voice or should I say your dancing feet to Waka Waka.”

If you want to help 1GOAL: Education for all, it’s simple:
1) Join the Waka Waka on July 25 register now call 0409 078 634

and 2) Go to www.join1goal.org and add your name.

Yours and millions of others names will be presented to all the world leaders at the next convention to be held in September 2010.

If you are interested you can contact Shirl on 5482 6101 to pre-register, or you are most welcome to come along on this Sunday at the Southside School to add your support and register on the day - bring your whole family if you like.

Subject: 2010 Gympie Diggers Football Club helping at The Muster

Each year, Gympie Diggers Football has volunteers helping at The Muster in Amamoor Forest. Our responsibilities are primarily bin-collection, exchange, emptying, and replacement. Over recent years, under the guidance of Henry Walker and Clint Ward, a great support facility is established for catering, camping and refreshment. Please consider helping out as it is a super way to support your Club in a hands-on way. The experience is rewarding, and the Club receives a generous donation from The Muster in return for our efforts.

Subject: Training Equipment

Attention all Coaches and Managers - please have a look at the gear you are currently using, and assess the need to hold excess equipment, particularly 'agility poles'.

As our current supply of 'agility poles' is based on the principle that we share the equipment around throughout the season, when and where it is needed, we ask that all our sides that have issued agility poles take stock of their usage and to free up unused gear so that we can reissue it through our other sides.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

Subject: Games to be postponed - Youth 2, Youth 1 and Mens Division 1 - July 2010

Please read below changes to the game draw for postponed games.

Amendments to Draw for Matches in July 2010

7 Jul    Y2    Golden City v Valley Rangers Purple (catch-up game from Round 1)

14 Jul    Y2    Golden City v Columbia Gold (deferred from 19 Jun)
14 Jul    Y2    Diggers Maroon v Valley Rangers Yellow (deferred from 10 Jul)
14 Jul    Y1    Diggers Blue v Columbia (deferred from 19 Jun)

28 Jul    Y2    Golden City v Diggers Maroon (deferred from 26 Jun)
28 Jul    Y1    Diggers Blue v Valley Rangers (deferred from 26 Jun)

I have also swapped Round 13 with Round 14 so that the bye for Diggers Blue now falls on 10 July rather than 17 July. Thus, the original Round 13 is now being played on 17 July and the original Round 14 on 10 July.

Times for these matches are yet to be determined. The time for the 7 July Y2 match depends on time slots and field availability on the Wednesday of  the Gympie Carnival. The other two dates coincide with the dates I've set for the Mens Div 1 deferred games for teams in the Wide Bay Men's Championships. Times and fields for the matches on 28 July will depend on whether one or both Mens teams play in the third round of the WBMC.

At this stage, I expect that the deferred Mens Div 1 games will be played on July 14, 21 and 28. Games on July 21 and 28 depend teams progressing past each preceding round.

Could you please let all clubs know these changes to the draw for Youth1 and Youth 2 and also the dates set for the midweek deferred games for Mens Div 1.

Regards,
Paul Ryan
FGI Games Controller

Subject: Fines for Forfeiture

Hi all competitive teams.

Football Gympie apparently now has a ruling that if your team forfeits, the club must pay $50.

If Football Gympie are notified of your team's forfeiture less than 48 hrs prior to scheduled kick-off time as per published Draw, a $150 fine must be paid.

We urge all our Coaches, Managers and Players to work towards fielding a team of at least 7 players, to avoid this fine.

Subject: Memo from Football Gympie - Registrar

Memo  to all clubs

Clubs are reminded that as from this week forms for players wishing to play this Saturday must be in the registrars box by 6pm Thursday as per By-law 3a.

Also it is a requirement of the Bylaw 6G iv that names of all players in all competive age teams must be in writing to the registrar by the second fixture.

There seems to be a bit of confusion about filling out the new type game sheet - 'home team' is the first on the draw and the 'away team' is team is the second on the draw. Each Team when filling out the sheet must put both teams in (so that their respective game sheets can be identified and cross-checked most easily); also 'age' means 'playing age' or 'division'.

Lastly, a reminder to all small sided coaches that their team sheets must be handed in each week as I did not receive many last week.

Registrar, Football Gympie Inc.

Subject: Shock Announcement - 'Climate Change' calls to Cancel World Cup 2010

CAPETOWN:

It has been announced today that recent developments in 'Climate Change' claims has derailed the forthcoming World Cup Competition in South Africa later this year. Hopes to hold the event in beautiful South Africa are fading as wild predictions of massive sea-level rises and extreme 'weather patterns' ride on the back of previous claims by speculative scientific organisations that 'Global Warming' is to impact most fully on the world economically. "No-one could predict the social cost and the affect this latest hysteria would create upon such global events as the World Cup." Many commentators and media spokepersons are speculating further implications upon other significant global sporting events such as the Olympics and go so far as to suggest that in the rush to usher in this new wide-reaching and all-encompassing 'user-pay' tax system known as the 'Climate Change Tax Levi' making mass transit to such events a thing of the past. Subject: Training delays and postponements

This season's training days have been washed out so far with the extraordinary rainfall we've sustained across the last couple of weeks. There is more rain forecast for the rest of this week. At last night's Club meeting, discussions were held regarding contingencies should the inclement weather continue up to the start of the season. Enquiries are being made today into alternative grounds and permissions to use those grounds. The outcomes of those developments will be advised ASAP. Meanwhile,

Subject: Changes for Small Sided Football in 2010

Football Queensland has recently been advised of some minor changes to the 2010 formats for Optus Small-Sided Football.

Football Federation Australia has made these changes following feedback and talking to some associations and clubs. The changes refer to the standardising of penalty area sizes across the age groups and a better progression for the duration of matches.

FQ confirms that, in Queensland, the implementation in 2010 will continue to include the Under 10 age group as the highest age group.

FQ trusts that the early notification of these changes will not cause any problems. FQ will be in contact with FFA over the coming weeks to check on the supply of the educational resources and will advise of those timings as soon as possible. For age formats se document below.
