Subject: Special Announcement: Prospective 'Invitational' Trip to NZ
The Gympie Diggers Football Club is pleased to support and encourage the proposed 'Invitational' trip to the Buckland's Beach area of New Zealand later this year in a reciprocal gesture to the highly successful trip to our shores that the Buckland's Beach Football Club made mid-way through last year.
On the back of that great experience, our long-term member and familiar Coach of one of our girls youth sides, Ollie Langton has been the point person in organising this proposed great adventure opportunity for a select team of enthusiastic girls who'll raise funds and the like for the trip. Behind the scenes activities have been progressing quite well. Over the coming few months we will be doing our utmost to support this endeavour within the scope of the overall benefit to the Club as a whole. We would encourage all our members to take the opportunity to support these girls in their quest to get the adequate funds up to make this trip happen. There will be raffles and other stuff available to help. Ollie can be contacted on 0408 825 352 for further information.
Hot on the heels of the girls we have equally great news that one of our youth boys sides have been also invited to visit the Buckland's Beach Football Club's area on an 'Invitational' tour of their own. Troy Rowlands will be getting together to steer a group of boys to embark on their own adventure across the seas to New Zealand. Shirl Toffoli is the point person in the boys venture. Shirl has advised that they are looking for around 6 more boys aged between 13 and 15 who would be able to commit to the touring side for the trip. Please contact Shirl on 0427 627 848 if you are interested and able - as the numbers need to be finalised by around the end of February to meet guideline-deadlines for the tour. Good luck everyone - we'll be looking forward to the tours' success.

Subject: Sign-on This Weekend
Remember that sign-on for the 2012 Football Gympie Season is on this Saturday and next at the One Mile Football Clubhouse between 9.ooam and 2.oopm. You can come in to register with Gympie Diggers Football Club in person, or go online to register in your own time (see details of online process below).
Please be advised that the MyFootballClub website will be processing enormous quantities of registrations across this weekend and we have been advised that some procedural delays may be expected. Therefore, we advise that a smart option is to take up the opportunity to register online at any time through the convenience of your own computer.
Whichever way you choose, remember you can still come down to the Football Gympie Clubhouse and look for the Gympie Diggers suite where we will be assisting players through their registration process and we will be taking payments directly tomorrow in order to complete the registration process. We will be accepting cash, cheque, EFTPOS and credit card at the Sign-on days. Alternatively, you can make a direct deposit into our trading account - details are revealed through the online registration portal.
Go to 'MyFootballClub' (FFA site) in order to register at any time.
Good luck and we'll see you out on the park/field/paddock soon.

Helping Out
|
The club is happy to hear from anyone who would like to coach, manage or assist a team in any way. Coaching courses are provided throughout the season. Please contact Joel if you are interested or for more information. We are looking for assistance throughout the year in other ways, and we would appreciate your support for and participation in our regular Football Gympie working bees, where all clubs are required to chip in on small field-related tasks and our major Club fund-raising activities out at the Gympie Muster in August. If your family would like to join us, we would appreciate this very much. It is a fun weekend for the members of our club to get together to raise funds and enjoy some country music in the process. If you can help please contact either Joel or Terrence.

Training
|
Our designated training day is Thursday, with teams training for around one hour with differing start/finish times ranging between 3.30pm to 8.30pm, depending on age groups. Teams will be notified of the training times by their
respective Coaches or Club Registrars. It is an insurance requirement that players wear their shin pads to training, and bringing a water bottle along is advisable to keep well hydrated. You can purchase 'Game Day' club socks and shorts at Gympie SPORTSPOWER. Check up here for notification of the first training sessions when sorted.

News

Gympie Diggers Football Club recently purchased our own Grandstand. It is the new one at the end of Field 1. We are in the process of having it raised to gain better viewing of the action. Diggers are proud to be the only club who has actually purchased one for the players and spectators. Sponsorship Signage space is available on the stand. Contact Joel for the options available and for other Sponsorship arrangements.

Subject: Sign On with Gympie Diggers Football for 2012 Season - 4th and 11th February 2010
Sign on will be held on Saturday 4th February and Saturday 11th February from 9.ooam to 2.oopm at the One Mile Ovals Football Gympie Clubhouse.
Football registrations are heading 'online' this year.
Go to 'MyFootballClub' (FFA site) in order to register ahead.
For players who have played before in Australia in the last 5 years, it's a simple process of following the prompts and filling out the forms as you go.
If you haven't played in Australia in the last 5 years and need to enter Club details in the process - enter "Gympie Diggers Football Club Inc " and just keep following the prompts.
For online registrations from home, you can direct debit the fees into the Gympie Diggers Account (see details of Diggers account number on registration receipt, and use your name as 'reference') to complete the registration process, or you can fill in the online registration 'as pending' and come down and complete the process by paying with cash, cheque, through the EFTPOS, or with credit card on sign-on days. Contact Treasurer Kylee Gerrard for our account details on 5482 4710. For more details stay tuned as we iron out the final stages of this new FFA initiative.
Please note the 'Age Group Policy' from FFA which is pretty much saying that all players must play within their respective age divisions and it is deemed that the age divisions will be across a single year level, starting at Under 5 through under 11 being SSG teams and competitive age from U12 through U18 within their respective age levels, meaning U12, U13, U14, U15, U16, U17, U18. Under 18 players will not be allowed to play in senior divisions at this stage. Final sorting of age divisions will be decided at Football Gympie Meetings after sign-ons, but at this stage it is looking likely that you will be divided into your registered age division and will play in that age division - only.
As soon as we have confirmation of your payment of all fees, as acknowledged through the bank account (ahead of sign-on days) or with completion of player registrations on sign-on days or thereafter - including full payment of relevant fees, the player registering will then be automatically placed into any available slot on a Diggers team within their age division.
In competitive age divisions, player registrations that are fully paid confirmations are activated after verification by our treasurer. The player is then allocated the first available slot within a Diggers team in the player's respective age division. Each subsequent fully completed registration is slotted in until a full team of 14 players are allocated. That Diggers side is then finalised. This process may seem different from previous years, but it is the FFA model that Football Gympie has been directed to adopt this year. Let's get in and see how it all works.
So get keen, get signed up, and get into the new season.
If you need assistance in signing up, please come to the sign-on days at the One Mile Football Gympie Clubhouse and speak to one of our friendly Registrars Shirl Toffoli or Karen Chamberlain or any of the Diggers Committee who'll be on the ground in force and they'll be most helpful in getting things through for you. EFTPOS, cash, cheque and credit card facilities will be available on the sign-on days.

Under 6 $124
Under 7 $124

Gympie Diggers Football Club Meetings
Meetings are conducted by the Committee for and on behalf of all Members. All Members and Supporters are most welcome, and are encouraged to attend. New faces are always welcome. Coach, Manager and Parent Rep from each team is invited to attend. Have your say on any matter of concern. Gympie Diggers Club Meetings are usually held on the 2nd Monday of each month throughout the Season. Meetings usually start at around 6.3opm in the Gympie Show Society's Office, at the Gympie showgrounds - in the middle, across the track.
The next meeting is scheduled for 6.3opm, Monday, 13th February 2o12 - please note the venue is now the Show Society's office at the showgrounds.

Sports Med Centre
If you need strapping tape applied in the correct way, go across to the Sports Med Centre next to Fields One and Two. There the qualified staff can apply strapping tape to any of your joints that may require support. An even bigger bonus is that if you supply your own tape, the fee is waivered. If you don't supply your own tape, a fee of $5 per taping applies.
High quality strapping tape in a good sized roll is available from the Clubhouse canteen at a cost of $12 per roll.
Also available is sports massage which relies on a donation in return for the service.

PICTURES
In relation to the pictures on our site - be advised that at registration, each player or parent or guardian signed a registration form that enabled the Club full use of imagery and name for publicity and promotional purpose in whatever medium. Be advised, that as a courtesy to Members, the Committee discussed an option where an individual can appeal to the Club in writing asking for an exclusion. Any submission request for exclusion must be in writing and must detail the reason for the exclusion request. On the basis of the submission, the Committee will assess each request and make any necessary accommodations. A submission does not guarantee exclusion, but efforts will be made to appreciate any special circumstance. Mail your exclusion request here.
